Palace: Despite loss, Pacquiao still the People's Champ

MANILA, Philippines — Manny Pacquiao may have lost the WBO welterwight title to Australian boxer Jeff Horn, but he is still the People's Champ, Malacañang said Sunday. "Pacquiao’s loss in Brisbane would not diminish the honors he bestowed to the people and to the flag," the Palace said in a statement to reporters after the fight. Horn, a schoolteacher, won by unanimous decision with scores of 117-111, 115-113, 115-113 over Pacquiao, an eight-division boxing champion.
