President Duterte almost cannot speak well in front of the Marawi soldiers.

The President became emotional because of the death of some of the troops and the difficulty of the soldiers in the fight.

He was accompanied by AFP Chief-of-Staff Eduardo Año, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr., and Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go.

Several times the President's visit to Marawi was delayed due to security and weather.

In the video shared by PCOO Asec. Mocha Uson, the President will be emotional when speaking to soldiers in Camp Ranao.

The death of some soldiers in Marawi was painful for him. “Mahal ko ang mga sundalo ko, sundalo ko yan eh, Commander-in-Chief nila ako eh… sa December yung sweldo nila dodoblehin natin”, 

Duterte also said that in December the soldier salary will be doubled.
