Mild quakes hit Mt. Province, Abra
No damages were reported from the mild earthquakes.
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — A mild tremblor shook Mt. Province, capital of Bontoc early Saturday dawn followed by another mild jolt in Tubo, Abra and another in Besao, also in Mt. Province three hours after the second jolt.
State-run Phivolcs measured the tremblor at magnitude 3.6 hitting Bontoc at 2:53 a.m. Saturday at a depth of 11 kilometers.
At 3:30 a.m., a 2.2 magnitude quake struck Tubo, Abra at a depth of 26 kilometers. Three hours after, a 2.1 magnitude jolt was felt in adjacent Besao in Mt. Province at around 6:29 a.m. at a depth of 4 kilometers.
All three jolts were traced from movements of the tectonic plates.
No damages were reported from these tremblors. Authorities said aftershocks were not expected.
