Minimum wage hike implementation expected before 2016 ends

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is hoping for the implementation of minimum wage hike for workers before 2016 ends.

A part from eradicating contractualization in the country, the DOLE  also aims to increase the minimum wage despite the issues to be considered the agency hopes to implement the salary increase this coming December.

DOLE Undersecretary Joel Maglunsod revealed that companies are capable of giving the 125-peso minimum wage not only within Metro Manila but all over the country as well.

Studies conducted by the DOLE show that industries still stand to earn profit despite of the proposed raise but some employers just do not give what is due to their workers.

Maglunsod appealed to the business sectors that labor officials are not placed in their positions merely to push for favors but are meant to help employees live more decent lives.
